You are More than Valuable

You are More than Valuable

Perhaps you remember the old Christmas Classic It's A Wonderful Life?  All George has is a fifteen-thousand-dollar life insurance policy, but with only five hundred dollars equity. Mr. Potter says "You're worth more dead than alive."  George goes to Mr. Martini's tavern and starts drinking, and then praying for divine guidance. His friends, including the kind and gentle bartender Nick, notice and try to help. Mr. Martini mentions George's name out loud, and Mr. Welch, sitting nearby, hears it. He punches George, causing a bloody lip. George leaves, though his friends urge him to stay and rest. George drives his car toward a bridge. Because of the snowy weather, he accidentally drives it into a tree. The homeowner comes out and upbraids him for harming the tree. George just keeps walking, out onto the bridge, to kill himself….

After George Bailey (James Stewart) wishes he had never been born, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George's wish come true. George starts to realize how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he was never there.

And the story could never be more applicable than in today's time.  Do you know that...

No Down Syndrome in Iceland and Netherlands. Olafsdottir responded, "We don't look at abortion as a murder. We look at it as a thing that we ended. We ended a possible life that may have had a huge complication... preventing suffering for the child and for the family. And I think that is more right than seeing it as a murder -- that's so black and white. Life isn't black and white. Life is grey.

Young lives committing Suicide, live on Facebook, because of bullying.

Elderly able to end their life through assisted suicide and suicide of their own.

Mass shooting and killing. While they may not be more they are deadlier and the reasoning behind it is faulty at best.  The recent shooting in New Mexico was only because his life and job sucked so he went to an area school to take as many people with him.

Psalm 139

Most Jewish scholars would say this is the most excellent of David’s Psalms as it confirms who God is and how He is everywhere present and He has made us and therefore knows us.

139 O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
    you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
    and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
    behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
You hem me in, behind and before,
    and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
    it is high; I cannot attain it.

Where shall I go from your Spirit?
    Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
    If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
    and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
    and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
    and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
    the night is bright as the day,
    for darkness is as light with you.

13 For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[
a]
Wonderful are your works;
    my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
    the days that were formed for me,
    when as yet there was none of them.

The God of heaven is speaking much differently than what the world is speaking today.  Unfortunately, most of only hear the screams of the world and His voice is being drowned out.  IT IS THE LIE OF THE EMENMY.  YOUR LIFE HAS VALUE AND WORTH BECAUSE THE PRICE PAID WAS TREMENDOUS IN THE LIFE OF CHIRST!!

The value is always determined by what it is worth in the one who is holding it.

A NBA official basketball is worth $139 in my hands but in the hands of Lebron James in one year $31 Million Dollars.  A NFL official football is worth $90 in my hands but in the hands of Drew Brees also $31 million.  An official Adidas Soccer Ball $160 on the feet of Cristiano Ronaldo $53 million dollars.

The price of life in the view of the world…the value of your organs, how famous you are, what you do, what you bring to the table, what people say about you but in the hands of Christ…

Priceless.  You are priceless.

Your value is worth the price paid.

The cross speaks of your value.

His life broken for you speaks of your worth.

HE BECAME A CURSE FOR YOU!!  HE THE SON OF GOD BECAME A CURSE FOR YOU!!

Galatians 3:13-15  13 Christ paid the price to free us from the curse that the laws in Moses’ Teachings bring by becoming cursed instead of us. Scripture says, “Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.” 14 Christ paid the price so that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to all the people of the world through Jesus Christ and we would receive the promised Spirit through faith.

I am raised up with Christ and seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6; Colossians 2:12).
I am greatly loved by God (Romans 1:7; Ephesians 2:4; Colossians 3:12; 1 Thessalonians 1:4).
I am strengthened with all might according to His glorious power (Colossians 1:11).
I am submitted to God, and the devil flees from me because I resist him in the Name of Jesus (James 4:7).
I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward (Philippians 3:14).
For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
