A Call to Worship

July 8, 2018 Speaker: Noris Chappel

Topic: Worship Scripture: John 4:21– :24, Mark 5:1– :29

Do you realize that along with your calling to become a believer comes the responsibility to worship God?  God demands that we worship Him.  Though we should not do it out of obligation, it should be a condition of our heart in which we desire to give God what He truly deserves.  He deserves for us to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

However, we live in a fast pace society which means we don't always set aside time to worship God apart from Sunday morning worship service. Yet when we realize the condition of our nation and the condition of our own lives it should make us want to set aside time to worship God.

When we worship God, He fills us up with His Spirit, so that the things that weigh us down begin to lift because of His presence.   While worship is toward and about God, our lives benefit greatly from being in His presence.

Today we want to take a closer look at what it means to worship God and answer the three following questions.

Why Do We Worship?

Who do We Worship?

How do we worship?

John 4:21-24

Mark 5:1-15

Mark 5:25-29

Worship is to honor, to show reverence for something or someone.

It is to bow before.

Worship is our identity, lifestyle, and posture.

Why is God to be worshipped?

What it means to worship God in Spirit and in Truth?

Have you limited worship to only Sunday morning service?

Have you set aside time this past week to Worship God in Spirit and in Truth?

Do you think it is possible to have a lifestyle of worship?  Why or Why not?

What steps will you take in answering the call to worship?
