Truly Free to Live for God’s Purpose

We believe the lies of the world. It’s the enemy. And even thought we may be set free from sin, expectations, or stress, we don’t truly live in God’s purposes for our lives.

We are always waiting on the next big thing, the next event, my youngest she lives in this world, just can’t wait for Christmas, and to open her presents, and so we got her this drone, and she opens and goes psycho (she cries) and a week later its broken, and then we were going to Mexico for my 1st cousin’s wedding and she can’t wait cause she loves vacations, and we see all these other people who are sort of the same just adulting in it taking selfie by themselves on the beach, like these fake Instagram stories letting everyone know how fabulous your life is.

Instead eagle-eyed fans quickly drew everyone’s attention to a man sitting in the front-row, seemingly the only fan in Crypto.com Arena who was witnessing the historic moment with their own two eyes rather than through their smartphone. But that man in the front wasn’t just any fan – upon closer inspection it was revealed the attentive fan was in fact Nike founder Phil Knight, sitting alongside LeBron’s two sons Bronny and Bryce. Knight’s relaxed demeanour was in complete contrast to the hundreds of fans around him fighting for the best angle for their video or photo.

Maybe its because he is the 17th richest person in the world at $41.5 billion…

Maybe its because he is 85. But this is a picture of living in the moments of life…

It’s exhausting. Other wise.

We are living for these moments.

And it’s engrained in us.

Just wait until she crawls, and they crawl…

Wait until they walk, quit pooping on themselves,

First day of preschool

Kindergarten Graduation.

6th Graduation.

Homecoming. Prom. Graduation.

College.

Your wedding.

Kids.

Grandkids.

Maybe great grand kids.

And then you are dead.

And the question we have to ask ourselves is have we lived God’s purposes in those moments.

Moments are what make up a life, and most of them are the mundane everyday moments.

We are always looking for the next big thing, but what if God is asking us to live for Christ in every single moment of our lives. Big ones. Small ones.

It’s our purpose. It’s where we find worth and meaning.

God has set you free FOR a purpose.

We were freed for God’s purpose. Our lives are rich with meaning.

I feel even as I am writing this week someone needs to hear that. Your life matters. Your existence matters. You haven’t heard that in a while or maybe at all. You don’t have a cheerleader in your corner screaming you name. You haven’t won the awards or accolades that others have, but the God of heaven knows you, knows the hairs on your head and thinks on you. You have a purpose in whatever it is that God has called you to do. Quit listening to the lies of the enemy saying otherwise. His plans are only to steal kill and destroy but Jesus has come so that you would have life and that more abundantly.

1 Peter 2:9–17

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession,

Now you have to know who you are before you can walk in your calling.

And if Christ is your Lord and Savior this is who you are!!

that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy…13 Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. 17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

You have been set free from the world’s definition of success. In Christ, you have a purpose.
