The Right to Life

Washington Times:

The night sky above the One World Trade Center had an eerie milky, pinkish glow — like a sickening mixture of blood and mother’s milk.  New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered the spire to be drenched in the ghoulish hue in “celebration” of the state’s new law that permits fully developed preborn babies to be slaughtered even on what would be their birth days.  As he signed the legislation, Evil cheered what was actually the signing of death warrants for countless babies who can be aborted at any time, for any reason, through the ninth month of pregnancy.

As I stared in disbelief at a photo of the illuminated spire, it reminded me of a hypodermic needle, like those plunged through the bellies of pregnant women, filled with an acidic poison that is squirted into the fluid that surrounds the baby and fills his tiny lungs, burning his entire body inside and out.  Or is it more similar to the spear-like suction tubes that are rammed into the base of a baby’s head to suck out their brains so that his empty skull can be crushed, and the newly murdered baby more easily yanked out of his mother’s womb?

Our Governor and legislative leaders hail this new abortion law as progress. This is not progress.

Progress will be achieved when our laws and our culture once again value and respect each unrepeatable gift of human life, from the first moment of creation to natural death. Would that not make us truly the most enlightened and progressive state in the nation?" asked New York's Catholic Bishops, including Cardinal Timothy Dolan, in a statement.

And today I would agree.  From Creation to Natural Death.  Formed in the image of Him.

I am reminded of the story of Cain and Able, and after killing his brother, Cain ask God am I my brother’s keeper, and God, says “His blood crys out to me from the ground.”

We will have to fight.  We will have to become invested.  Everyone has the right to Life.

Our vision for 2019 includes hiring a director, add a free STD clinic here at Hope Restored to help mothers yes, but also prolong life in the womb and give mothers another chance for their baby’s life.  And ultimately our vision is to have this entire complex under the vision of Hope bringing help to all of life from the Homeless, to the elderly, to healthy living, gardens, and parks, and life being restored right here in east Houma.

We need you help.  This is a shameless plug.  We absolutely need monthly donors,

Banquets are great.  Grants are for specific items.

But a donor base for Hope Restored helps this place fight on the front lines every single day.

Let’s not be a people who are loud with our words but quiet with our actions.

Truly we must hear our brother’s crys and be the help that need.

Sunday night right here in Houma a teenager shot dead in the streets for what some people are saying was a little more than a $10 debt.

Some 795 million peoplein the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on earth. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished.

Genesis 4:1-11

4 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten[a]a man with the help of the Lord.” And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground. In the course of time Cain brought to the Lordan offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lordhad regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. TheLordsaid to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted?[b]And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to[c]you, but you must rule over it.”

Cain spoke to Abel his brother.[d]And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. Then the Lordsaid to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother's keeper?” 10 And the Lordsaid, “What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to me from the ground.11 And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

What have you done?  What have you done?

Houma Christian what have you done?

Obviously (or at least I think) no one has murdered their brother in the room today.  You most likely don’t approve of the law that got established in New York for abortion, you may not believe in physician assisted suicide, and you likely had no part in the shooting that happened over the weekend, and honestly you eating all the food in your plate is not going to help world hunger.

But still the voice of our brother’s blood is crying from the ground…. that still rings true today.

We are our bother’s keepers.

So much so that God writers in the two most famous commandments…

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a]38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The entire bible up to that point was hanging on these words Jesus was saying, forget the over 600 laws written, and the codes that were impossible to follow because it was all summed up and hinged upon the fact that as we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength we would show that by loving our neighbor as ourselves.

And that on our watch, our brother’s blood would not cry up from the ground!!

That is why we are going to have to get up off our butts and do something for the kingdom of God.  We are going to have to be actively involved in righting these wrongs.

Micah 6:8  He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Proverbs 21:3
To do righteousness and justice is more desirable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Jeremiah 22:3 This is what the LORD says: Administer justice and righteousness. Rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Do not shed innocent blood in this place

Some of you in the room are going to have to be law makers and make better laws.

Some of you in the room are must be judges and rule fairly throughout the land.

And some of you in the room are going to have to be teachers, and doctors, and professionals, and givers, and non-profit directors, and activist, and not shut upabout it because it concerns you that your brother’s blood is crying from the ground and fundamentally you believe as we love our neighbor that everyone has a RIGHT TO LIFE.

So, then that leaves a question, what do we do now Ms Tara?

-Skip a Starbucks and give to one of those things that bothered you that I talked about.

-Give your time, your summers, your college years, your single years.

-Learn more.  Be a better student.

-Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and he will show you how you were specifically designed to love you neighbor.  HE WILL SPEAK TO YOU!!

-Put Action behind your faith and Don’t Shut up about it.

I love the saints, I am a support my city girl always have been (to prove it I even cheer for the Pelicans…grrrrr Anthony Davis).  The Who Dat nation has been robbed, you know that, I know that but what has been amazing to me is the response of the people.

People are not only boycotting the Super Bowl they will have their tv on another station, they bought billboards in Atlanta just to remind everybody we were robbed, they didn’t allow billboards to be put up in New Orleans from Falcons fans that were taunting us, the NFL has been sued, players have written petitions,  and you better believe that those laws will be changed.

All for the belief in the Saints.  What about your belief for Life?
