Pursuing God's Kingdom Agenda Part 1

January 28, 2023 Speaker: Freddie Frye Series: Pursue Conference

“PURSUING GOD’S KINGDOM AGENDA”

The unifying central
theme throughout the Bible from
Genesis to Revelation is the glory of
God and the advancement of His
Kingdom.

Matthew 4:17 KJV

17 From that time Jesus began to
preach, and to say, Repent: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Text: Isaiah 55:6-7 NIV

6 “Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him
while He is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the
unrighteous their thoughts. Let them return to the
Lord, and He will have mercy on them, and to our God,
for He will freely pardon

“Wicked” (“rasha”) heb.

That which God has declared to be
morally wrong according to His
righteous standard.

“WAYS”

“Unrighteous” (“aven”) heb.

1. To come to nothing.

2. Evil

3. Vanity

4. Sorrow

“THOUGHTS”

WICKED SINS ARE SEEN MORE
OPENLY “his ways” and
unrighteous refers to the more
subtle workings of sin in

“his thoughts.”

Psalms 94:11 kjv

11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man,
that they are vanity.

II Corinthians 10:3-6 amp.

3-6 The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out
there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t
live or fight our battles that way—never have
and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for
marketing or manipulation, but they are for
demolishing that entire massively corrupt
culture.

We use our powerful God-tools for smashing
warped philosophies, tearing down barriers
erected against the truth of God, fitting every
loose thought and emotion and impulse into the
structure of life shaped by Christ.

1. How do we begin to
Pursue God’s Kingdom?

7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them “RETURN” (repent) to the
Lord,

1. Preach repentance,

Matthew 4:17 kjv

17 From that time Jesus began to
preach, and to say, Repent: for
the kingdom of heaven is at
hand.

LUKE 13:3-5 NKJV

3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all
likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam
fell and killed them, do you think that they were
worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in
Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all
likewise perish.”

MATTHEW 16:18-19 KJV
“Authority of the Church”

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and
upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates
of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom
of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

2. Pray for and expect the
demonstration of the power
of God to save, heal, deliver,
and change lives.

Kingdom advancement and
expansion are intended to come
from word-and-power ministry,
not by word alone.

1 Corinthians 2:4

Paul:

4 ”And my speech and my
preaching were not with persuasive
words of human wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of
power,”

Matthew 4:23-24 Jesus went throughout
Galilee, teaching in their
synagogues, proclaiming the good news of
the kingdom, and healing every disease and
sickness among the people.

News about him spread all over Syria,
and people brought to him all who were
ill with various diseases, those suffering
severe pain, the demon-possessed, those
having seizures, and the paralyzed; and
he healed them.
