WHY JESUS CHRIST?

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath

WE WERE DEAD SPIRITUALLY.

Isaiah 59:2

2  ..but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that he does not hear.

2.We were disobedient.

Ephesians 2:2

2 in which you used to live whenyou followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.     

Romans 12:2

2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

John 12:31

31 Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.

3. We walked according to the flesh.

Ephesians 2:3

Ephesians 24-9

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ.

Romans 5:8

8. but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
